There’s nothing quite like a landscape transformation, and today is a big day at my house—it’s install day! 🌿✨ The incredible team from Moon Valley Nurseries arrived early this morning, and they’ve been hard at work bringing my vision to life. The difference is already huge, and I can’t wait to see the final product!
Why We Chose a Mediterranean Landscape Design
When planning the landscaping for our home, we wanted something that felt timeless, elegant, and drought-friendly—which made a Mediterranean-style design the perfect choice. This style not only enhances curb appeal but also provides low-maintenance, water-efficient beauty. Plus, the combination of plants we selected brings in texture, color, and shade, making the outdoor space both functional and visually stunning.
Our Mediterranean Plant Selections
Here’s a breakdown of the plants we’re incorporating into our landscape:
🌳 Fruitless Olive Trees – These gorgeous trees provide shade and bring that signature Mediterranean look without the mess of dropping olives.
🌾 Blue Fescue Grass – A soft, blue-green ornamental grass that adds texture and contrast to the design.
🌸 White Roses – Classic, elegant, and fragrant, white roses add a romantic touch to the yard.
🌵 Agaves – These sculptural succulents are low-maintenance and drought-tolerant, making them perfect for San Diego’s climate.
🍊 Fruit Trees – We’re adding a variety of fruit trees to bring both beauty and function to the landscape. Who doesn’t love fresh fruit straight from their backyard?
